Star Wars fans and gamers alike were beyond ecstatic after learning through a Reddit leak last December that the upcoming LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is set for release in Spring 2020. The game’s developer TT Games have never confirmed nor denied the said leak but in a stunning and disappointing new development, they have revealed that the highly-anticipated game won’t be released anytime soon.
Confirming the news on Twitter a day after April Fool’s, TT Games revealed that the game is not yet finished and they’re now eyeing a new launch date for it. The gaming company wrote: “All of us at TT Games is working hard to make LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga the biggest and best-ever LEGO game – but we’re going to need more time to do it. We won’t be able to make our intended Spring release date, but will provide updated launch timing as soon as possible.”

Interestingly, the statement from the game’s developer pretty much confirms that the Skywalker Saga was indeed scheduled to launch around this time. While they didn’t go into detail about the cause of the delay, I’m guessing it has something to do with the restrictions brought upon by the ongoing pandemic.
And with games like Cyberpunk 2077 failing to hit the mark due to in-game glitches and other nagging issues after its official release, I certainly believe the best move right now is to delay the launch of the upcoming LEGO video game to avoid another Cyberpunk scenario. Fans are willing to wait anyway.
Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’s new launch date has yet to be announced but the game is expected to be released for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
