This one could be a bit of a shocker, so sit down and hold onto something. Legendary revealer of things and reporter inside the gaming industry, Jeff Grubb, has some bad news for fans of Jedi: Fallen Order and all of us who are super hyped for the sequel…
Jedi: Fallen Order 2 Could Be Next-Gen Exclusive
According to Jeff Grubb, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 could release exclusively for PS5, Xbox Series S|X and PC. Yup, that means no PS4 or Xbox One edition. Sorry, folks, but Grubb is usually very reliable and when he reports on something, it is usually right. So if you were hoping to still be firing up your PS4 Pro to play Fallen Order 2, then you might be in for a painful dose of reality.
We don’t know a whole lot yet on the sequel to Fallen Order. We actually… don’t know anything. Except that it’s coming! It’s actually one of many Star Wars titles Respawn Entertainment is working on at the moment. However, Grubb also says that it will be shown at Star Wars Celebration on May 26 – May 29. When exactly it will come out is not clear yet, with rumors pointing to a release date in this year.
And it looks like in the year of our lord Luigi, 2022, a big single player title by EA will not come to old-gen anymore. A lot of people are still playing on those consoles, but also eventually developers will need to focus on next-gen to bring gaming a step forward.
So, sorry folks, looks like it’s time to upgrade. It will probably be worth it though, trust me. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was an amazing game and if they really just do it next-gen, the sequel could easily be even better and more impressive.
