Two ongoing TI10 qualifiers have concluded their first day of opening matches. Coming into Day 2, we have some interesting odds to talk about. For the most part, our initial predictions were accurate. The favorites stomped their respective competition, but we can only expect matches to be chaotic from this point onwards because the high-profile teams collide on Day 2.
Here’s four key matches in Day 2 and Dota 2 betting markets to make your head spin.
TNC Predator vs BOOM Esports
Both teams successfully won their opening match, but it wasn’t exactly a one-sided victory for them. TNC Predator, the proclaimed best SEA team in the qualifiers, had a close series versus Team SMG. Looking at the decisive third match, if not for Kim “Gabbi” Villafuerte’s Terrorblade turning team fights around, their opponent could have won with a Medusa late-game strategy.
BOOM Esports also had a rough match where they narrowly defeated the Execration’s Phantom Lancer. The match took much longer than BOOM had liked, and they must be counting their lucky stars for killing Phantom Lancer.
As both teams collide, it’s likely that TNC Predator still has the advantage in various aspects. TNC Predator’s reliable meta play and execution is much more flawless and ironed out. Odds-wise, TNC Predator is in favor to win at x1.5 versus BOOM Esports at x2.51 odds. My prediction is that TNC win the series 2:1.
Fnatic vs OB Esports x Neon
In the second upper bracket series, Fnatic face OB.Neon as their next opponent. Despite Fnatic’s reputation as a massive powerhouse, they have yet to prove their strength in the grand scheme of Dota Pro Circuit 2021 (DPC 2021).
Meanwhile, OB.Neon had some glory back in the Singapore Major 2021. This will undoubtedly be an exciting series to watch as both teams look forward to their redemption arc. Nevertheless, it seems like OB.Neon has the upper hand in when looking at the odds. I will go against the grain and predict a Fnatic victory here.
Undying vs Black N Yellow
Over at the North American qualifiers, Undying is considered the prominent team of the bunch. After they went neck-to-toe against both Evil Geniuses and Quincy Crew, they have proven their point that they deserve the TI10 slot. Now then, their next obstacle is Black N Yellow.
BnY also swept their opening match versus bumble bEE’s. It’s unlikely that Black N Yellow will stand a chance versus Undying based on their past encounters. The Dota 2 odds reflect similarly on the heavy favorite, Undying, at x1.05 return versus Black N Yellow at x8.87 return. If that’s not a telltale sign of one-sided matches, than we don’t know what is.
To milk some profits out of this matchup, we can select Map 1 – First Blood going to Undying at x1.69 in return.
simply TOOBASED vs 4 Zoomers
In the end, we have yet another one-sided match in the upper bracket of NA qualifiers. 4 Zoomers features a stack of all-stars often ending up close behind the high-profile teams. Although 4 Zoomers never really made it into the DPC 2021 majors, they are still a heavy contender to win the NA qualifiers.
simply TOOBASED on the other hand, also has its own stack of familiar faces, but only made its debut into the Upper Division during the DPC 2021 S2. They were perhaps a rising star, but it wasn’t enough to surpass 4 Zoomers overall.
Dota 2 odds are on the side of 4 Zoomers to win at x1.08 versus simply TOOBASED at x7.19 return. Considering the minor gap between the two teams back in Upper Division league, the difference in odds feels overblown.
I predict this series actually going the distance and 4 Zoomers winning in Game 3. The score would be 2:1 in favor of the Zoomers.
The featured matches are from both upper brackets, while there are also lower bracket games ongoing later today the outcomes are harder to predict. To find out more about all TI10 matches on GG.BET.
