Toph revealed as a new character for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl

Toph has been revealed as a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. She’s one of the supporting characters to Aang in Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender series.

Unlike Avatar Aang and Avatar Korra (two other characters in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl’s roster), Toph is a specialized Earthbender. She is completely unable to Airbend, Waterbend or Firebend.

To really emphasize Toph’s specific role as an Earthbender, it’s stated that Toph is more of a ground fighter in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Needless to say, Toph is at her worst when she’s trying to fight in the air.

Despite being a very short character, her ground strong attacks are quite massive in size. When performing her neutral strong, up strong and down strong attacks while grounded, Toph will summon earth structures from the ground that act as hitboxes. Even Toph’s hand movements will strike opponents while she does this.

This Earthbender is also capable of summoning a boulder projectile that becomes more powerful the more it is charged. Toph is even permitted to store the projectile for a later use.

One might think that Toph would have a bad recovery due to her status as an Earthbender, but it’s actually exceptionally good as her aerial down special will summon ground beneath her. She’ll need to land on normal ground before being able to use this technique again, but this appears to be able to refresh Toph’s jump and double jump.

This is all very impressive for a blind 12-year-old girl. But it’s also fitting for how Toph is in the show.

Being that Toph is the 20th character revealed for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, the game’s entire base roster has been revealed. Of course, we do know that there are at least 2 more yet to be revealed fighters that will become available as DLC.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will launch October 5, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam.
