Dual Effect, Abstract Digital Works and PQube have announced that survival horror Tormented Souls is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, with the previously-confirmed PS4 and Xbox One editions now scrapped. The game also slated for release on PC and Nintendo Switch.
The game will be available in both digital and physical variations, and will launch later in 2021. No concrete release date has been announced yet.
Tormented Souls is inspired by classic horror staples such as Resident Evil and Silent Hill, and offers a modern take on the fixed perspective. Players follow Caroline, who finds herself lured to the town of Winterlake and ends up battling for her life while looking for an escape “from the decrepit hell in which she finds herself.”
While tapping into classic survival horror gameplay, Tormented Souls modernises things with improved controls and a more dynamic camera, all the while squeezing the extra horsepower afforded by next-generation consoles. Expect puzzles, resource management, and secrets and as you explore a spooky mansion and its grounds.
Tormented Souls is scheduled for release on PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Switch in 2021.
