If you were hoping that the two new “The Legend of Zelda” games would be new titles, we have to disappoint you — it seems that Nintendo is preparing two Switch ports instead. The two games that Minotti and Grub speculated about are iconic franchise-defining hits: “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess” and “The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.”
The first of the two was originally launched in 2006 and made for the GameCube and Wii before being ported to the Wii U. According to VG247, “Twilight Princess” was the best-selling “Zelda” title, with 8.85 million units sold, until it was surpassed by the (still beloved) “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” in 2018.
“The Wind Waker” is another fan-favorite, although less recent than “Twilight Princess.” First released in 2002, the game was available on the GameCube and on later the Wii U through a high-definition remaster. Many fans are hoping to see these two games ported to the Nintendo Switch as we all await the sequel to the “Breath of the Wild.” Let’s hope Nintendo speaks up soon and delivers the good news.
