Ubisoft has announced that they will be publishing the dodgeball multiplayer party game OddBallers from developer Game Swing for PC and consoles, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Stadia, and Amazon Luna. Putting a fun twist on the classic competitive sport, Oddballers can be experienced solo or multiplayer, both locally and online. The Switch version exclusively has access to 6-player local multiplayer, while all other platforms will be limited to 4-player. Online is up to 6 across the board.
According to a Best Buy listing, physical copies will be released, priced at $19.99 USD. OddBallers will be launching on 24th March, and you can check out all the details on this upcoming new IP below.
Players will dodge, block, and throw items across three unique environments, each of which features more than 30 different arenas and plenty of minigames. Progress from arena to arena, win minigames, and earn medals and convert your match point to win. Minigames range from classic modes, like last-one-standing battles, to wacky competitions to see who can shave sheep with a lawnmower or knock people out with fish to play a trumpet. Regardless of which minigame you play, there’s one constant rule: Everything is a weapon. Throw balls, chickens, cacti, or just about anything else you can pick up. Environmental hazards like electric fences, explosive gas tanks, and tennis ball launchers will also offer ways to take out your opponents.
Unlock new rewards as you play to customize your OddBallers with hundreds of different accessories, outfits, haircuts, and more. Of course, what’s the point in pelting your friends in the face with a fish if you can’t bust out a sweet dance or taunt after you do it? Fortunately, OddBallers lets you do just that.
