Ubisoft to close servers for three Xbox 360 Tom Clancy games this year

Ubisoft has announced that servers for several of its older games will close soon, including Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.

Numerous games’ servers will be shuttered according to Ubisoft’s updated Online Services Masterlist. The majority of games added to the list are PC titles, but there are three Xbox 360 games on the list that you’ll need to think about completing soon if you haven’t done so already. Servers for Rainbow Six Vegas, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will go dark, potentially leaving each title with discontinued achievements.

When will the servers close for these games? That’s a good question. The Masterlist currently gives a vague 2021 shutdown date, which isn’t much help to anyone. We’ve seen reports stating that servers will close sometime between June and September, but these remain unconfirmed. We reached out to Ubisoft late last week to clarify a date and to get an answer on what services will be impacted, but we are still waiting for a reply.

Before you go racing to start and finish these games, both Rainbow Six Vegas and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 already have partly discontinued/unobtainable achievements, so be aware of those. Ghost Recon: Future Soldier should be fully completable (providing everything is still up and running).

If you need any of the online achievements in these games, you might want to join or set up a boosting session and work through the achievements with other TA members. You can view available sessions for each game using the links below:

We’ll update you as soon as we find out a definitive date for these server closures.
