Google announced this week that it will terminate its game streaming service, Google Stadia, in January 2023. The company revealed that all purchases on Stadia will be refunded. For Ubisoft, however, we’ll push the world further. In order to give the developers a free PC version of any Ubisoft game purchased in Stadia, we can use the free version of that game.
In a report from The Verge, senior corporate communication manager Jessica Roache released the following statement to the website: “Sayness.
While Stadia shut down on January 18th, 2023, were happy to share that was working to bring the games you own on Stadia to PC through Ubisoft Connect.
Roache said they will share more information about transfers at a later date. Moreover, despite Google shutting down Stadia, Ubisoft continues to invest in cloud gaming. Roach saying, “We believe in the power of streaming and cloud gaming and continue to push the boundaries of how we bring amazing experiences to our players, wherever they are.
Roache hasn’t determined whether your saves and progress from each game will continue. Some games Ubisoft released on Stadia included Assassins Creed: Valhalla, Rainbow Six: Siege, and Far Cry 6.
