Call of Duty: Vanguard is set to release worldwide on November 5. In detailing the road map to launch in Season One, Activision and Sony have also confirmed some of the exclusive content PlayStation owners will be getting.
While it’s nothing that will give them a competitive advantage against others, PlayStation Plus members will get a free in-game bundle of cosmetics to celebrate Season One as well as with every subsequent Vanguard season. These packs will include things like new Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints and more.
PlayStation players will also receive exclusively Monthly Double XP events (lasting 24 hours each) as well as a +25% bonus weapon XP when partying with fellow PlayStation players. Perhaps the best perk of playing on PlayStation though is the two additional loadout slots.
It was confirmed in a recent trailer that PlayStation-exclusive content won’t be arriving on other platforms such as Xbox or PC until at least November 2022. Beyond the already mentioned content above, it’s unclear if there will be additional PlayStation content. 2020’s Black Ops Cold War featured the Zombies Onslaught mode that is exclusive to PlayStation until November 2021. Nothing like that has been announced for Vanguard so far.
Season One of Call of Duty: Vanguard will start on December 2, bringing new maps and modes, weapons and gear, zombies updates and more. That’s also when Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale mode, will be updated to the Warzone Pacific, reflecting the WWII theme of Vanguard. We’ll be getting a new map, Caldera, along with vehicles, weapons and more that are true to World War II. There will also be various in-game events leading up to the arrival of Season One.
The PlayStation exclusive content stems from a deal that Sony made with Activision dating back to Black Ops III in 2015. Since then, every Call of Duty game has featured some form of timed exclusive content for PlayStation gamers.
