Walmart Black Friday promises ‘Deals for Days’ on video games

Retailers are going big on Black Friday this year. While the annual sales event typically kicks off on the Friday following Thanksgiving day (or sometimes that night), retailers like Walmart and Target are hosting an entire month of Black Friday deals.

Target’s Black Friday sale begins on Sunday, October 31 with new sales being introduced every week. Walmart is doing something similar with what the company is calling “Black Friday Deals for Days.”

Basically, Black Friday is being split up into three events that span the entire month of November. Deals will be offered online first before making their way to stores a few days later. Here’s the schedule:

Event 1

Online deals begin November 4 at 7 p.m. ET with new deals in stores November 7 at 5 a.m. local time.

Walmart didn’t get too specific but did promise “amazing deals on toys, electronics and home products.” They don’t specifically mention video games, but we can assume electronics probably encompasses the Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo games.

A preview of the sale event can be seen here although I suspect more deals will be announced when the event begins. Walmart mentions more items will be added online on Saturday, November 7 at 12 a.m. ET so the sales will be rolling in over the course of the weekend.

Event 2

Online deals begin November 11 at 7 p.m. ET with new deals in stores November 14 at 5 a.m. local time.

Once again, nothing too specific but it sounds like this event will be geared towards techies. Things like TVs, computers and tablets will be discounted along with movies, music and more. Again, I’m only guessing, but I imagine video games will be included as well.

Event 3

Online deals begin November 25 at 7 p.m. ET with new deals in stores November 27 at 5 a.m. local time.

This event wraps up Walmart’s Black Friday sale event with discounts on electronics, toys and and just about everything else.

Unfortunately, those looking for discounts for an Xbox Series X|S or PlayStation 5 probably won’t find them this year. Heck, you’ll be lucky if you can find the console in stock. Chip shortages have led to major supply issues with next-gen consoles, so I doubt retailers will be discounting them this year.
