Walmart Has PS5 Stock In-Store for Walk-Ins

You won’t have to wait for the next Walmart PS5 restock as new reports indicate the retailer has stock in-store now.

Walmart is one of the best places to grab a PS5, and a new report suggests that now could be the time to get one. Despite many buyers complaining about Walmart’s PS5 shipping time, the retailer actually appears to have stock after all.

But you won’t be finding these PS5s online, it appears. Some lucky buyers are confirming that their local Walmart has new PS5 stock in-store, available for walk-ins.

Could this be the end of the PS5 stock shortage that Sony promised? Or is it simply Walmart aiming to stock its stores secretly, without causing buyers to panic?

With the PS5 being the fastest-selling console of all time, it’s no surprise that the company is keeping things quiet. But if you’ve got a local store, it could be worth a visit.

But with GameStop dropping new PS5s TODAY, you might be better off looking there before heading off to Walmart.

Walmart PS5 Stock Available In-Store

According to users on the PS5Restock subreddit, Walmart has PS5 consoles in stock in-store for walk-ins.

Of course, this isn’t likely to be the case in every Walmart brick-and-mortar store. However, a few users have had similar experiences buying from the major retailer.

Ss4_hawk reports that they called their local store and were told that they had PS5 consoles in stock to sell. Allegedly, Mondays are the best days to check, but you’d probably be better off calling regularly.

The PS5 stock was not on the store shelves however, and the company was instead keeping them in the back. The Reddit user reports that Walmart needed to see an ID with the purchase, presumably to prevent scalping.

It’s also worth mentioning that this purchase was made in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Could the buyer have been lucky, or are other stores nationwide making a change?

According to Lord Restock, a couple of Walmart stores in Texas have been doing this restock system for some time now. It’s entirely possible that others will be joining in as stock levels rise.

Unfortunately, we’ve actually seen scalpers selling PS5s on Walmart’s online store in the past. With that and the company’s issues with delivery, we’d always advise buying a console in-store when available.

After all, this scalper group snatched 3000 PS5s from a single Walmart drop. Perhaps this is why the company prefers to sell a few units in-store, to help genuine buyers.
