Warhammer Age Of Sigmar: Storm Ground Mobilizes On May 27th

Are you a Stormcast kind of person, or do you prefer the Nighthaunt? Maybe the worm-infested Maggotkin are more your bag? You’ll get to find out soon, because Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground launches for PC and consoles on May 27th.

What do we know about Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground?

In a press release commemorating the launch date announcement, publisher Focus Home describes Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground as an “action-packed turn-based strategy game”. You’ll get to lead one of three armies in the Age of Sigmar, either crushing AI enemies in roguelite-style single-player campaigns or going up against other players in PvP matches. Check out the release date trailer for a sneak peek of what you can expect from the game.

In addition to the new trailer, Focus Home and developer Gasket Games also revealed a new faction coming to Storm Ground: the repulsive Maggotkin. This faction revels in death, corrupting the ground and dealing damage through decay. This brings the total number of playable factions to three: the immortal Stormcast warriors, the eldritch Nighthaunts, and the aforementioned Maggotkin. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, so it’s up to you to discover the best way to navigate the battlefield. As you play, you’ll unlock new unit cards, extra skills, and gear you can use to shore up your army and create a unique playstyle that suits you.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground launches for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on May 27th. No word yet on a next-gen console release, but you’ll likely be able to play the game through backwards compatibility on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S anyway.
