WARREN — The city school district has issued new Friday night football expectations after receiving complaints from parents about student behavior at high school varsity home games over the last several weeks.
The school district now is requiring all PK-8 students and guests at the football games to be accompanied by an adult. These children are expected to sit with the adults in the stands, according to the policy.
They will be required to register with the adult at one of four designated tables prior to entering Mollenkopf Stadium.
Each child and adult with a game ticket will be required to provide the accompanying adult’s phone number, sign in and will receive a wristband to be worn for the duration of the game. Children without wrist bands will be removed from the stadium.
Warren G. Harding High School students will continue to follow the same game day procedures as have been communicated by the school administrators and staff this season. No specific details were provided.
“We believe it is the parents’ responsibility to govern how their children behave,” Superintendent Steve Chiaro said. “However, after reviewing the situation, we put some additional measures into place so our loyal fans and Warren City Schools families can have an enjoyable game day experience supporting our WGH Raider football team, marching band and cheerleaders.”
