PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women’s hockey team defeated the Boston Pride, 3-2, in an exhibition game on Friday, Oct. 1 at Schneider Arena. Hunter Barnett scored the game-winner for the Friars with just 13 seconds left in regulation.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
Providence grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first, with a goal from Lindsay Bochna (Toronto, Ontario). Bochna found the back of the net on the power play with less than five minutes to go in the first, putting the Friars ahead 1-0. Hayley Lunny (Bedford, N.Y.) and Hunter Barnett (Caledon, Ontario) assisted on the goal.
Mireille Kingsley (Sudbury, Ontario) entered the game in net with 10:18 remaining in the second, putting an end to Abstreiter’s day. Abstreiter finished the exhibition with 13 saves during 29:42 minutes between the pipes.
Bochna kicked off period two with her second goal of the night, just 32 seconds into play. On her second goal she was assisted by Caroline Peterson (East Falmouth, Mass.) and Claire Tyo (Massena, N.Y.).
Providence played man-up for 4:50 after the Pride’s Kayla Friesen earned a five-minute major for contact to the head. Ashlyn Garnett (Nova Scotia, Canada) was whistled for interference with ten seconds to go in the power play. Neither team scored on the man-up opportunity and the second period ended 2-0.
The Boston Pride put up their first point of the night on the power play, after Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) was called for interference, just 2:01 into the third period.
Boston Pride tied the score at 2-2 with an unassisted goal from Sammy Davis at 11:48.
Hunter Barnett scored the game-winner for the Friars with 13 seconds left in regulation, assisted by Ciara Barone (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) to seal the Friar victory at 3-2.
Kinsley tallied 16 saves during her 30:18 minutes in the net.
