China said on Wednesday the international community will not accept U.S.-led boycott of the 2020 Beijing Winter Olympics, amid growing criticism of China’s human rights record.
A U.S. State Department spokesman said Tuesday, in response to a reporter’s question, that a potential joint boycott of the event is among the issues the United States hopes to discuss with its allies and partners.
Responding to the comment, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said, “The international community won’t accept it” at a press briefing.
