At some point we’ll surely have fully exhausted the options left in the ‘simulator’ genre. But until then, we’ll be hunkering down with WW2: Bunker Simulator on Xbox.
Available to purchase and download today, WW2: Bunker Simulator places you in the hardened boots of an American soldier; one of the 101st Airborne Division no less. Your task? To defend the German bunker that you have taken as yours. Nothing new there, you may think.
We’ll try not to judge from the frankly pretty absurd launch trailer which is accompanying the release of WW2: Bunker Simulator on Xbox, but we don’t think you should be expecting to find a GOTY contender here, nor anything that will trouble those games that fully entrench us in the battle; games like Isonzo for instance.
WW2: Bunker Simulator just looks damn weird, as you go about preparing food, gaining strength and then heading out into the big wide world to ensure that those Germans don’t get the chance to take back the bunker they liked to call home.
We’ll be looking to review in the very near future and would hope that will be able to provide some further insight into how WW2: Bunker Simulator runs on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Until that time though, if you want to take a punt, you’ll find the Xbox Store providing the download goodness you need. It’ll cost you £14.49.
Alternatively, pick it up on Steam, where it’s been getting some decent little reviews.
Just watch that trailer first, yeah!?
Game Description:
ACHTUNG! You are an American soldier. One of the distinguished 101st Airborne Division. Soldiers of 101st fought hard and died but they followed orders. They made things that others couldn’t. Do you want to be remembered? You’ll have to earn it. Your companions have captured the German bunker during the Battle of Normandy, and your task is to defend it at all costs. Defend your bunker! It won’t be easy though. Soldiers are humans and between fighting, they need to rest, get fed, and regain their energy. The enemy won’t wait for you to get ready. The day is short. Many tasks await you. Prepare food to regain some strength. The sky is full of enemy aircrafts. It’s hard to get enough supplies from your allies. You must scavage whatever you can to survive. Search the bodies of those killed in battle – sometimes you will even find chocolate! Remember to check the supply regularly as you must also take care of your companions. Order wisely and share food. If you don’t have enough bandages, food, or ammunition, send a message to the command with a request for a supply drop. It is mandatory to enter the password in the Morse code. Receive encrypted messages and anticipate your enemy’s plans. This is why you are here. Perform missions – be vigilant and make good use of your machine gun, anti-aircraft gun, and anti-tank cannon. Remember: Soldier’s fate… never changes. You thought 101st Airborne Division got famous for nothing?
