When Microsoft acquired Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax Media, it got the rights to a bunch of studios. One of them was Alpha Dog – a Canadian mobile developer, known for creating “top-tier” 3D games for portable devices.
So what’s the sudden interest in Alpha Dog, you ask? It’s become the hot topic of the day – with Xbox fans discovering it’s been actually been working on a new free-to-play mobile title, known as Mighty DOOM.
Yes, it’s a brand new DOOM game, currently in early access on Google Play, which has been “flying under the radar” for a number of months now. The above trailer was posted on Bethesda’s YouTube channel just a few days ago.
It’s a single-touch run and gun shooter, where players must work their way through hundreds of levels while battling challenging bosses, levelling up, gaining powerful skills, looting new gear and upgrading legendary weapons.
You can find Mighty DOOM over on Google Play, but right now the game appears to be limited to specific regions. Alternatively, there’s a selection of DOOM games (new and old) on Xbox Game Pass you can always check out.
