Xbox Elite Series 2 Controllers are now available on Xbox Design Lab

Microsoft has added Xbox Elite Series 2 Controllers to its Xbox Design Lab service.

The Design Lab allows players to customise their own controller, choosing the colours for every element of the controller.

According to an Xbox blog post, the Design Lab versions of the Elite Series 2 Controllers have a customisable body, back case, D-Pad, bumpers, triggers, thumbsticks and buttons.

Players can also choose between a cross-shaped D-Pad or a faceted one, and can also customise the colour of the thumbstick base and ring for the first time in Design Lab.

Optional laser engraving also lets players add a 16-character message on the controller.

Because the Elite Series 2 Controller has interchangeable parts, players can also customise and order extra parts, such as metallic paddles and different shaped thumbsticks.

They can also customise the design of the controller’s carrying case.

A custom Elite Series 2 controller costs $149.99 / £124.99 on its own, or $209.99 / £174.99 with all its Elite components. Players can also buy and customise specific Elite Accessory Packs.

The Design Lab was originally launched in 2016 so that players could create their own Xbox One controllers.

The service was stopped in October 2020, however, with Microsoft stating that it was “offline temporarily so that we can bring you some updates”.

It returned in June 2021, where it had been updated to support Xbox Sereis X and S controllers.
