Microsoft has not revealed all the new games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October 2022 just yet, but previous announcements have confirmed at least nine titles that subscribers will be able to play come next month. Seven of these titles will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers across the board, while two are only going to be available those on PC who are signed up for either PC Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
Xbox Game Pass subscribers should keep in mind that there will be more games added to Xbox Game Pass besides the nine titles listed here. The way Microsoft does its Xbox Game Pass announcements is an initial reveal in the beginning of the month that focuses on the next two weeks, and then an announcement for the second wave of games that make up the back-half of the month. There’s no reason to think Microsoft will deviate from this pattern for the October 2022 Game Pass games.
While Game Pass subscribers wait for the official announcement, here are all nine games that have been confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in October 2022 so far.
New Xbox Game Pass Games for October 2022
- Coral Island (PC) – October 11
- Eville – October 11
- Dyson Sphere Program (PC) – October 13
- A Plague Tale: Requiem – October 18
- Norco – October 20
- Persona 5 Royal – October 21
- Scorn – October 21
- Gunfire Reborn – October 27
- Signalis – October 27
Coral Island will be joining PC Game Pass on October 11 as an early access game. It’s a farm sim game that takes place on a tropical island, drawing clear inspiration from popular titles in the genre like Stardew Valley. One way it stands apart from its inspirations, though, is its focus on coral reefs, as one of players’ main objectives in the game is to clean the reefs. Farm sim fans will definitely want to try it out come October 11.
Also coming to Game Pass on October 11 is Eville. And while Stardew Valley fans may be interested in trying Coral Island, Eville will likely appeal to gamers who are more into games like Among Us. Eville is a social deduction game, where players either have to successfully deduce who the murderer is or be the ones getting away with murder. Multiplayer games are always a good choice for Xbox Game Pass because it ensures that they will have an immediate audience, though it remains to be seen if Eville will take off in quite the same way as Among Us. Fans will find out next month.
A couple of days later, PC Game Pass subscribers will be able to try Dyson Sphere Program, a space sim game that has been available in early access since last year. Dyson Sphere Program has been well-received by sim game fans, and so those interested in the genre have something to look forward to on October 13.
Coral Island, Eville, and Dysphon Sphere Program may all have their fans, but one of the bigger new Xbox Game Pass games for October 2022 is set to join the lineup on October 18. On that day, Game Pass subscribers can check out day one game A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to the well-reviewed and award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence. One of the main reasons to sign up for an Xbox Game Pass subscription is to have day one access to games like this, and so A Plague Tale: Requiem is certainly one of the most exciting new Game Pass games coming in October 2022.
Day one Xbox Game Pass games are always exciting, but it’s also great when the service adds slightly older, critically-acclaimed games as well. One such game is Norco, which released earlier this year for PC. Norco is making its console debut on October 20 as a Game Pass game, so those on Xbox consoles will get to see what all the fuss is about and find out why the point-and-click cyberpunk adventure game is one of the highest-rated new video games of 2022.
A much older game is set to join Game Pass on October 21 in the form of Persona 5 Royal, and even though it’s much older than other games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October 2022, it’s still one of the most significant new additions of next month. The Persona franchise has remained largely PlayStation-exclusive for decades now, but Atlus is finally bringing the most beloved games in the series to other platforms. This starts with Persona 5 Royal‘s ports to other platforms, with the game making its Xbox debut as a day one release.
Persona 5 Royal, for the uninitiated, is one of the highest-rated video games of all time. It’s an expanded and enhanced re-release of Persona 5, adding new story content and more for fans to check out. Persona 5 Royal will be one of the highest-rated games in the entire Xbox Game Pass library when it’s added on October 21. JRPG fans that have yet to play the game should definitely make sure to give it a try when it’s added to Game Pass.
October 21 seems like it’s going to be a busy day for Xbox Game Pass. Not only are Xbox Game Pass subscribers being treated to Persona 5 Royal that day, but they can also look forward to day one game Scorn. Scorn is a first-person horror game with disturbing, H.R. Giger-inspired levels. It was one of the first Xbox Series X console exclusive games that was ever revealed to the public, and fans will finally get to try it for themselves next month. It’s coming out just in time for Halloween, so those who need a new horror game to play for the holiday season should give it a go.
Fans of first-person games have plenty to look forward to when it comes to the new Xbox Game Pass games for October 2022. Besides Scorn‘s addition on October 21, they can also play Gunfire Reborn on October 27. Gunfire Reborn is a roguelite FPS that has been available on PC for about a year now, but is just finally making the jump to consoles. Gunfire Reborn is set to hit Xbox consoles first and is doing so as a day one Game Pass game. The PC version has proven popular enough, and the game’s addition to the Xbox Game Pass library should expand its horizons that much further.
And finally, the last game confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in October 2022 so far is Signalis, and like Scorn, it should be a solid Game Pass addition for Halloween. Signalis is a survival-horror game that uses a retro art style and sci-fi elements to create a uniquely creepy atmosphere. It looks like it should appeal to fans of old-school survival-horror games like the original Resident Evil titles. Fans can find out how it stacks up for themselves when it joins the Xbox Game Pass lineup on October 27.
These nine games are what’s been announced for Xbox Game Pass in October 2022 so far, but subscribers should keep in mind that even more titles are on the way. There will also be some games leaving Xbox Game Pass in October, so fans should keep that in mind as well.
