Xbox Game Pass is losing a huge Series X and S game this month | Gaming | Entertainment

Xbox Game Pass subscribers will see a high-profile Xbox Series X and S game depart the service in February 2022. Today (February 1 2022) Microsoft has revealed new games heading to Xbox Game Pass in February 2022, with major titles such as CrossfireX heading to XGP soon. But while there will be plenty of new additions, on February 15 a number of big games will be departing the Game Pass library – including Blooper Team’s The Medium.

The Medium is an old school survival horror which was one of the very first Xbox Series X and S games announced.

Back in May 2020 when Microsoft held its Xbox Games Showcase event – which revealed games heading to the Series X and S ahead of the console’s big release date – The Medium got its big unveiling.

It later launched in January 2021, a few months after the Series X and S first hit shelves in November 2020, and was the consoles’ first real exclusive.

The Medium later arrived on the PS5 in September 2021 after being an Xbox Series X and S console exclusive for almost three quarters of a year.

And now, just over a year after arriving on Xbox Game Pass as a Day One title, The Medium will now be leaving the service.

In total six games are confirmed to be departing Xbox Game Pass on February 15.

The other games leaving XGP on that date are Remedy’s critically acclaimed hit shooter Control, Bandai Namco’s anime-infused Bloodborne-esque RPG Code Vein, Final Fantasy 12 The Zodiac Age, Project Winter and The Falconeer.

If you want to keep these games in your libary after they depart Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate then subscribers will be able to get a discount of up to 20 percent to keep and own these titles.

While six games will be leaving Xbox Game Pass in February 2022, Microsoft has confirmed 10 new games to arrive on the service the same month.

The headline attraction is arguably CrossfireX, with the single-player campaign – which is developed by Control makers Remedy – hitting Game Pass on February 10.

Among the other games Microsoft said are heading XGP in February are Telling Lies – the latest game from Her Story creator Sam Barlow – Ark: Ultimate Survivor Edition, JRPG Edge of Eternity and more.

Here are the newly announced Xbox Game Pass releases for February 2022…

Contrast – February 3

Dreamscaper – February 3

Telling Lies – February 3

Besiege – February 10

CrossfireX – February 10

Edge of Eternity – February 10

Skul: The Hero Slayer – February 10

It has also been announced previously that Total War: Warhammer 3 will be heading to Xbox Game Pass in February while Shredders – a new snowboarding game inspired by OG Xbox series Amped – had looked like it could launch this month too.

But latest leaks indicate Shredders will instead have a March 17 release date.
