Xbox Game Pass September 2021 — What’s Coming This Month

Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate are without a doubt the best deal in video games, providing subscribed gamers with over 100 games from a varied selection of genres, developers and publishers. Also included in the deal are EA Play and Xbox Cloud Gaming, as well as a selection of curated perks and bonuses.

Big AAA Xbox Game Studios projects like Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon 5 aren’t out until November. Deathloop, the next offering from Microsoft’s Bethesda is a PlayStation 5 timed exclusive for a year, thanks to a holdover deal from before the ZeniMax company was purchased in September 2020.

Thankfully, Microsoft often works with indie developers and third party publishers to make sure a steady amount of new content comes to the subscription service each month, including day and date releases for new games. September is no exception, with the big hits being the co-op stealth ninja game sequel Aragami 2 and a beautiful adventure game set in the desert called Sable.

Aragami 2 is somehow looking better than the original, which was already fantastic.

Leaving Game Pass

Xbox games that aren’t owned by Microsoft often cycle in and out of availability on the Xbox Game Pass service. There’s a “leaving soon” section on the app that will tell you which games to prioritise before they go. Usually you get a week or two to finish things up before a game leaves the library.

So far, the only game we know that is leaving Xbox Game Pass in September 2021 is Forza Motorsport 7. This is happening because of issues with licenses expiring. If you’d like to, you can purchase Forza Motorsport 7 with an Xbox Game Pass discount before it goes. If you do that then the game will remain available to your account for as long as downloadable Xbox One games are supported by Microsoft and Xbox Game Studios.
