Update: Unfortunately some “pesky bugs” have put a spanner in the works, resulting in Moonglow Bay being delayed by a few weeks until October 26. Thankfully, it’s not too far away!
Ahead of its Xbox Game Pass launch, the team has something special to share on its original release date of October 7, so it’s not all bad news. Wonder what it could be?
Original Story: The “slice-of life” fishing RPG Moonglow Bay has finally been given a release date and will be launching via Xbox Game Pass on October 7 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC.
The open-world adventure will have you befriend locals, fishing, cooking and completing a variety of quests to advance. As you progress, you’ll unlock more technical equipment, such as traps and more powerful nets.
There are over 100 species to discover, multiple story arcs to complete and even monsters to encounter. All of this can be completed in single-player or via drop-in/drop-out local co-op. It looks and sounds wonderful.
Moonglow Bay is set along the Eastern Canadian coastline during the 1980s and offers players a diverse and emotionally charged story, complemented by a relaxing, slice-of-life fishing RPG.
You play as a rookie angler, struggling to fulfil your partner’s final wish by keeping a business afloat in the face of impending bankruptcy.
Whether playing solo or with a friend in drop-in-drop-out local co-op, you’ll need to cook your catch of the day, then sell a variety of recipes to upgrade your shop, gear, and fishing boat.
Along with the game’s announcement, we also had the opportunity to sit down and talk with the creators behind Moonglow Bay about the wholesomeness of the game, along with the advantages of Xbox Game Pass.
For anyone who is a fan of games such as The Touryst or similarly cosy games, Moonglow Bay is definitely one you’re going to want to keep on your radar.
