Sony boss Phil Spencer finally opened a first look at a much-rumored new peripheral that could come forward in the near future. In 2022, rumors and reports began to swirl about an Xbox streaming device with code of “Keystone”. This accessory would allow Xbox players to experience games on different monitors without having to buy the console or mobile device. And while Xbox hasn’t officially confirmed that Keystone existed yet, Spencer has now shown the item in a somewhat roundabout manner.
In a new image shared on Twitter today, Spencer unveiled what appears to be the first impression of this cloud streaming device. Though Spencer’s tweet showing off Keystone was meant to highlight Bethesda’s Fallout series, he shared an image of his shelves that prominently featured a piece of Xbox tech that hasn’t been announced yet. Based on the previous mockups that were taken out, it seems clear this accessory is the Keystone hardware we’ve heard very often. The device wasn’t made by Spencer and was placed in the Easter eggs, which fans could find himself in.
Vault Boy left the shelter and stopped by my office to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the event.

It is worth noting that this isn’t the first time that Spencer has shown a new Xbox game prior to a proper reveal. Spencer, back in 2020, hid a PC with an Xbox Series S console that he saw months ago in multiple live streams before the platform was announced. This tease of Keystone was clearly quite intentional and was meant to make Xbox fans excited for the formal announcement of this accessory in the future.
In terms of revealing, we don’t yet know when Xbox can decide to dig deeper into keystone. Given that Spencer is now showing off the item, it seems likely a reveal will happen sooner rather than later. We’ll give you some more information on ComicBook.com.
Are you interested in seeing this Xbox Keystone peripheral in action once it’s announced? And what do you think about Spencer spooking new Xbox items, this time?
