Microsoft is currently rolling out a new update for Xbox Insiders that reduces the boot times of both Xbox Series X|S consoles and the Xbox One.
As revealed by Microsoft’s Josh Munsee, the Microsoft team has been working on a new shorter boot sequence that reduces the original boot-up animation by five seconds, reducing the overall startup time on the Xbox Series X and Series S.
Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One boot times improved
The new boot-up animation on Xbox Series X|S is just five seconds long, compared to the original, which was nine seconds. However, it’s not just Series X|S users who will see a benefit from this update. According to Jake Rosenberg, who worked on the update, Xbox One consoles are also “booting noticeably faster with these changes.” It’s unclear just how much quicker the Xbox One boots now with the update installed, but if you want to see how a Series X performs, check out the video below.
The update has already rolled out to Xbox Insiders in specific rings, so if you’re a part of the programme and you don’t have your Xbox Series X|S set to ‘Instant On,’ you might already be seeing the benefits of this new boot-up animation. Hopefully, this update will be made available to all users soon.
What do you make of the changes? Glad to see Microsoft still working away on improving the Series X|S and Xbox One? Let us know down in the comments.
