Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One new game releases in December 2021

December will see the release of a variety of games for the Xbox family of consoles but none bigger than Halo Infinite, the latest installment in Microsoft’s flagship first-person shooter series. Halo Infinite’s multiplayer launched in November as a beta ahead of the campaign’s release. But fans have had to wait until December to embark on Master Chief’s next big adventure.

Although Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is a standalone, free-to-play download, Microsoft is charging for the campaign. However, it will release for free on Xbox Game Pass, meaning if you’re a subscriber, you’ll get to play it for free on Day One.

Halo Infinite picks up after the events of Halo 5 with the Banished having defeated UNSC forces and taken control of the mysterious Zeta Halo. Humanity’s fate rests on the shoulders of Master Chief who returns in the biggest campaign to date.

Although Halo Infinite is definitely the biggest blockbuster to arrive on Xbox in December, there are quire a few other noteworthy titles releasing on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One.

Among Us, the social deduction game inspired by the popular party game Mafia, makes its console debut on Xbox where it will release as a Xbox Game Pass title. Chorus is an intriguing sci-fi adventure where you play as Nara, an ace Pilot with a haunted past, and her sentient starfighter, Forsaken. Race through the galaxy in this cinematic single-player adventure as you fight back the oppressive cult known as the Circle.
