Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One new game releases in January 2022

2022 promises to be a big year for video games, especially for Xbox which saw a tremendous back half of 2021. Xbox really found its footing in the latter half of last year with releases like The Ascent, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Back 4 Blood, Forza Horizon 5 and, ultimately, Halo Infinite. What’s more, all of these games were launch day titles on Xbox Game Pass, meaning they were completely free on day one for subscribers to Microsoft’s gaming service.

Looking ahead to 2022, the focus for Xbox is clear: games. So let’s kick things off with the upcoming Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One games coming in January 2022.

Although there aren’t any Xbox exclusives coming next month, The Anacrusis, Windjammers 2 and Pupperazzi will each be making their Xbox debut via Xbox Game Pass. So if you’re an Xbox Game Pass member, you will be getting these games added to your library for free.

Beyond those, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction is probably the highest profile title on the list. A co-op shooter, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction sees a team of three Operators enter various containment zones across the United States to fight off an alien threat. Rainbow Six Extraction is only priced at $39.99 but also comes with a Buddy Pass to invite up to two other players to play alongside you for free for up to 14 days.

A game I’m personally looking forward to is Reverie Knights Tactics, a turn-based tactical RPG where your decisions on the battlefield actually alter the story. I always enjoy a solid grid-based tactics game and the hand-drawn art style of Reverie Knights Tactics is particularly appealing.
