Xbox Series X owners who don’t want to move far from their gaming perch to visit the fridge got some welcome news this week. Microsoft is apparently going to make mini refrigerators that resemble the boxy game console.

The revelation was revealed on Twitter Thursday night by Aaron Greenberg, Microsoft’s GM for Xbox marketing, after Xbox defeated Skittles in some sort of best tweets by brand competition.

Greenberg said after the win that Xbox would move forward on a promise to make Xbox Series X Mini Fridges. When making that promise earlier to fans who voted for Xbox, Greenberg said it was not an April Fool’s joke.

“Not clickbait,” he added.

Greenberg didn’t follow up with any sort of timeline or pricing for such an appliance, or whether they will be mass produced.

Last fall, Microsoft delivered a custom, full-size Xbox fridge to rapper Snoop Dogg as part of the promotion fan giveaway around the release of the new console. The black fridge featured neon green interior lighting and a glowing X logo on the front door to serve as a “guiding light for your snacking quests,” Microsoft said at the time.

All the fridge talk started back in 2019 when Microsoft revealed the console’s design and the internet responded with appliance memes.
