Xbox Wire is Microsoft’s own news site that keeps players up to date on almost all aspects of Xbox, including Xbox Game Studios, Cloud Gaming, Game Pass, and of course the latest consoles. Microsoft sold its first Xbox console back in February 2002, and to mark the occasion, Xbox Wire, for the first time ever, will be available in Japanese.
“As we continue our journey, we are excited to bring the joy and community of gaming to so many more players in Japan,” the announcement says. Microsoft’s gaming platform has seen an uptick in market growth for the region in recent years, thanks to the launch of the Xbox Series X|S consoles, Xbox Cloud Gaming via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and more. During the Tokyo Game Show 2021 stream, Microsoft also announced it would support full Japanese localisation its upcoming Starfield and Redfall games.
“Japan remains one of the most important and fastest-growing markets for Xbox worldwide, and with the recent launch of the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox Cloud Gaming with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate in Japan, it’s important we establish a platform that allows for all our Japanese fans to access the latest Xbox updates.”
