Everything that happened during the NieR Automata Second Anniversary Livestream, including the reveal of Yoko Taro’s debut as a VTuber.
Square Enix held today the NieR: Automata Second Anniversary Livestream, where multiple small announcements and information was shared. The stream is still ongoing here.
First off it was announced that NieR Automata is getting new Line Stamps. They also showed off the PS4 avatars, 15 in total, and PS4 Theme included in the Nier: Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition.
Next, a collaboration between Nier Replicant and Yoko Taro directed mobile game SINoALICE was announced. The collaboration will start on February 21 in Japan, and will probably come in the western version of the game at some point after it releases in the west.
A preview of the NieR Automata Orchestra Concert’s Bluray release was shown as well, I will be adding proper timestamp links when the stream is over.
Moreover, it was also revealed that Yoko Taro will be making his debut as a Virtual YouTuber. He will appear starting March in Jam Gem Jump!!!, a VR Radio stream held on Niconico Douga every Tuesdays at 20:00 JST. NieR Automata‘s Producer Yosuke Saito is also producing that show, and shared on stream how Yoko Taro kept bugging him about wanting to try out becoming a VTuber, so they ended up launching the project. More information will be coming later.
Later on, NieR Automata‘s seiyuu also joined the stream, and they started retracing the game’s history, from when live gameplay was first shown back at a NieR Concert in April 2016.
They also revealed new information on the upcoming Nier Automata stage play adaptation in Japan.
Throughout the stream, they jokingly mentioned Astral Chain many times and how they want to talk more about it, but they didn’t actually reveal anything new on it.
The NieR: Automata Second Anniversary Livestream is still ongoing right now, so this article will be updated a bit later when it ends.
