Sibol League of Legends PC shatters expectations with silver medal finish in Hanoi │ GMA News Online

The Sibol League of Legends PC squad finished their impressive campaign with a silver medal in the 31st Southeast Asian Games after failing to stop the momentum of the Vietnamese squad, 3-0, on Sunday.

The Philippines, bannered by West Point Esports, battled the odds despite fielding in a team whose four members are part-time players, currently enrolled college, and senior high school students. The other teams fielded a roster composed of professional LOL players.

After topping the group stage against Singapore and Thailand, the Filipinos took down Malaysia, 3-1, in the semifinals before falling against the Vietnamese.

It was a dominant campaign for Vietnam as they did not drop a single game all throughout the tournament.

WPE was composed of Andre Dominique “Calumnia” Soriano, David Emmanuel “yjyyyyyyyyyy” Tapang, Jan Edward “Creshowo” Hortizuela, Jan Raphael “RVL8” Retance, Hezro Elijah “ParzivaI” Canlas, and Van Matthew “Vansu” Alfonso.
